Root canal procedures are used to treat a diseased or infected nerve (pulp) of a tooth. Symptoms of diseased nerve may include hot and/or cold sensitivity, pain and swelling, and a bad taste in your mouth. In some cases, there is no pain and no other symptoms. Diagnosis is determined by X-ray and clinical examination.
In years past, the tooth would be extracted. Today, root canal treatment allows us to save the tooth.
Dr. Constantine Malouf performs all root canal procedures at Hill Country Dental Center. In some difficult cases, it is necessary for you to see an endodontist (root canal specialist). We will provide a referral to local endodontists we know and trust to care for our patients.
